GitHub + Velocity

Development

Keep the issue and the code change together.

Connect GitHub pull requests, commits and issue updates to Velocity so your team can follow work from a planned task to a merged change.

Illustrative workflow

  1. 1

    Plan in Velocity

Create an issue and include its identifier in the branch, commit or pull request.

  2. 2

    Build in GitHub

Connected repository events link the change back to the issue.

  3. 3

    Follow the result

Review the linked PR and apply the status and merge behavior you configured.

What your team gets

See the code behind the task

Link pull requests and commits to issues so reviewers can find the implementation without searching repository history.

Reduce status maintenance

Configure issue synchronization and merge behavior to keep supported GitHub and Velocity updates connected.

Give agents repository context

Map repositories to teams or projects and configure branch and PR templates for supported agent delivery.

Make it work for your workspace

A workspace owner or admin authorizes the GitHub connection and selects repositories. Repository mappings and synchronization options determine which work is linked or updated.

Choose the workspace and follow its integration setup. Your existing issue ownership, priorities and workspace permissions stay part of the workflow.

Questions, answered

How does Velocity know which GitHub change belongs to an issue?

Use a Velocity issue identifier such as WEB-42 in a branch, commit or PR, or explicitly link the PR to the issue. Repository access and workspace mappings still apply.

Does linking a PR automatically merge it?

No. Linking makes the change visible in Velocity. Merge and agent delivery remain governed by your repository permissions and configured workflow.
