Codex + Velocity

Agents

Take assigned issues straight into your Codex workflow.

Assign Velocity issues to Codex and work them in a local repository, with linked results, commits and optional pull request delivery.

Illustrative workflow

  1. 1

    Assign or mention Codex

Queue an issue run in a workspace with the Codex integration enabled.

  2. 2

    Work in your repository

A signed-in velocity-agent worker claims the selected team’s task and runs Codex against the configured checkout.

  3. 3

    Review the change

Inspect the linked commit and result, or the PR when delivery was enabled.

What your team gets

Use your tracked requirements

Queue work by assigning an issue or mentioning Codex, with the issue context available to the worker.

Use your local Codex account

The native worker uses the installed Codex runtime and its configured model and reasoning effort.

Keep delivery inspectable

Link actual commits and results to the issue. Enable push and PR delivery when your workflow calls for it.

Make it work for your workspace

Enable Codex, install and sign in to its local runtime, and start a Velocity worker with the selected team and repository. Git authentication and a workspace GitHub mapping are needed for PR delivery.

Choose the workspace and follow its integration setup. Your existing issue ownership, priorities and workspace permissions stay part of the workflow.

Questions, answered

Does the Codex integration use Velocity AI credits?

Native Codex runs use your configured Codex account rather than Velocity’s metered AI operations. Your Codex account’s own usage terms apply.

Does the worker merge a PR or mark the issue Done?

No. The worker reports its result and links commits or an optional PR. The team retains review, merge and issue-completion decisions.
